This will be a family event not to be missed. One of Austin’s favorite performers for children stakes the stage of the Symphony Square Amphitheatre one performance only! Joe McDermott and his Smart Little Creatures bring their popular songs for kids to the stage for a fun-filled early evening concert, June 3rd. Sponsored by Girling Health Care and MFI Foundation, this is a concert for the young and the young at heart, children and adults of all ages.

A nationally recognized children’s artist based in Austin, Joe McDermott has written and released five children’s recordings. His first nationally distributed CD entitled, I Am Baby, won a “Parents’ Choice Recommended Honor” in 1998. His subsequent recordings have garnered such awards as “Parents’ Choice Silver Honor” award, the National Parenting Publications “Gold Award” and second place in the International Song Writing Contest, Children’s Division. His songs are in regular rotation on the children’s channel of XM Radio. His songwriting abilities have enabled him to compose music for children’s video games and educational software, including one project pairing him with Stan and Jan Berenstain, creators of the classic Berenstain Bears books.
