The Austin Symphony continues its Centennial Celebration season with a night of boot-scootin’ western swing when the Sarah & Ernest Butler Pops welcomes Ray Benson and Asleep at the Wheel on March 9 at the Long Center for the Performing Arts. Larry & Brenda Smith and Van & Jeanne Hoisington are providing special Centennial Guest Artist sponsorships and ExxonMobil serves as concert sponsor for the return of The Wheel on the Austin Symphony stage.
Ray Benson and The Wheel got their start with symphony orchestras with they appeared with the ASO in 2004. Since then they have made their way through symphonic halls across the country. After nearly 40 years and an incredible 25+ albums, Benson the The Wheel play an unrelenting schedule of one-nighters that would make a vaudevillian dizzy.
