The ASO welcomes the long-haired country boy and his band to Dell Hall for an evening of hits on March 6 & 7. The third concert of the newly expanded 2008-09 season of the Sarah & Ernest Butler Pops, this year’s pops season adds an additional night to the October and March concerts. An icon among country western, rock and pop music lovers for decades, Charlie Daniels has steadfastly refused to label his music as anything other than “CDB music.” You don’t want to miss this Grammy award winner perform with the Austin Symphony for the first time. Daniels will perform his hits, such as “In America,” “Uneasy Rider,” “The South’s Gonna Do It,” and of course, “The Devil Went Down to Georgia.”

The Charlie Daniels Band appears Friday and Saturday, March 6 & 7, 2009, 8:00 pm in Dell Hall of the Long Center for the Performing Arts. Tickets are $27 to $48.
