“Boo"-tiful Music Highlight of ASO Halloween Concert

What Austin tradition is creepy and crawly, yet not too spooky for the little ones and still exciting and enlightening for the whole family? It’s fun-filled and educational, with classical music that will leave you shakin’ in your boots: The Austin Symphony presents it annual Halloween Children’s Concert, sponsored by Bank of America and the Topfer Family Foundation. Performances will take place in Dell Hall at Long Center’s Dell Hall on Sunday, October 25th at 2:00 p.m. This concert is a wonderful chance for you to introduce your children to the wonders of live orchestral music and also a great opportunity to wear costumes and have tons of fun.

The concert will feature the music of Ghostbusters, Harry Potter, and Scooby-Doo, as well as “boo”-tiful symphonic Halloween favorites such as “Danse Macabre” and “In the Hall of the Mountain King” that will delight young audiences. Children will also be introduced to various instruments in the orchestra and learn about the music being performed. With surprising special effects and classical favorites, families will never want to leave! Although the program is designed mainly for families with children between the ages of 3 and 10, the atmosphere will spark excitement and imagination in listeners of all ages when stepping through the front door. Kids and their families are also invited to wear their costumes to the concert.
