Bring family and friends for this hour-long concert featuring the Austin Symphony’s 40-piece Wind Ensemble, showcasing music influenced by the rich culture of Mexico. The ensemble will be under the direction of Caroline Croom Beatty, Associate Director of Bands at Texas State University in San Marcos.
This afternoon of music will feature performances of works by Silvestre Revueltas, Jaime Nuno and Carlos Chávez, as well as works by American composers influenced by Mexico. Beautiful pieces such as Sensemayá, Zandunga Serenade, Granada and Chapultepec, along with the Mexican and American National anthems will be played.
This performance is presented by the Austin Symphony Orchestra Society, Inc. as a gift to the wonderful citizens of Central Texas.
