For Immediate Release:

Jim Reagan, Executive Director of the Austin Symphony Orchestra (ASO), announced today that the organization has surpassed a record set only last year. The December 4, 2007 production of Handel’s Messiah was a complete sell out, passing an attendance record set by the 2006 production of the sacred oratorio.

The Austin Symphony Orchestra has been performing Handel’s great work for more than 25 consecutive years. This year’s production featured ASO music director/conductor Peter Bay joined by Chorus Austin and a quartet of soloists from across the country, Cara Johnston, soprano; Jami Rhodes, alto; Don Hill, tenor; David Small, bass. Proud sponsor for the 2007 concert was Emerson Process Management.
