The Austin Symphony celebrates the music of the masters of the American Songbook, George and Ira Gershwin, when it presents Here to Stay: The Gershwin Experience for the Sarah & Ernest Butler Pops concert, February 22 at the Long Center for Performing Arts. This concert is an exciting and beautiful tribute to the musical brothers that changed American music forever, and sponsored by Watkins Insurance Group and Austin Tree Experts.
Here to Stay is a multimedia concert celebrating the genius of George and Ira Gershwin, with hits such as “Rhapsody in Blue,” “I Got Rhythm,” “Strike Up the Band,” “The Man I Love,” “ ’S Wonderful,” and other favorites. Featuring Gershwin interpreters, pianist David Snyder and Jeffrey Biegel, Grammy® award-winning soprano Sylvia McNair, and tap dancing sensation Ryan VanDenBoom, this concert event also showcases rare audio and video footage, family photos and elegant, state-of-the-art visuals of the Gershwins. This will be a night of music and entertainment you won’t want to miss!
