Music on the Mezzanine

Orchestra ensembles of the Austin Youth Orchestra (AYO) perform prior to select Classical concerts of the Austin Symphony. These concerts take place at 7:00 pm. The five orchestras of the AYO that participate are:

  • Symphony – Grades 9-12
  • Philharmonic – Grades 6-10
  • Sinfonietta – Grades 1-8
  • Intermezzo – Kindergarten-Grade 7
  • Concertante – Kindergarten-Grade 6

AYO membership is open to all interested orchestra students, Austin ISD and non-Austin ISD, and determined by an audition process.
